Team ACMIn alignment with its green agenda, ACM has kicked-off its partnership with Mawdsleys to help deliver the company’s sustainability objectives. ACM is rolling out its Greener Path Programme that will focus on moving towards Zero Waste.
Head-quartered in Salford, Mawdsleys is a global pharmaceutical service provider offering a wide range of services to the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector. Led by ACM’s Principal Waste Consultant, Russ Sampson, ACM has gone live with its Greener Path Programme.
Eager to improve the waste and recycling operation in line with modern sustainability practices, Mawdsleys sought out waste partner ACM. Keen to align operations across its UK estate portfolio in a direction towards sustainability, ACM offered that and beyond, with parameters including a consolidated supply chain, detailed reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
ACM begun by replacing Mawdsleys legacy contractor-owned equipment with a new ‘fully sealed’ waste compactor which prevents leaks and litter escaping. The compactor is ideal for storing a large volume of on-site segregated waste, reducing the number of collections required and allowing easy access to remove the waste once full.
Within the organisation, ACM will be emphasising effective waste segregation at source with consistent signage and segregation containers, a staff awareness training programme, and the introduction of a new company Waste and Recycling Resources Handbook. ACM’s Greener Path Programme delivers a step-by-step continuous improvement plan in line with corporate sustainability objectives.
Scott Harland, Operations Manager at Mawdsleys said: “The Greener Path Programme brings our entire waste operation neatly into alignment with our other green agenda initiatives, such as solar panels on our vehicles. It’s a great system from an operational viewpoint too, as the WasteTrack reporting portal provides me with all the Management Information I need for accurate compliance reporting, audits and decision-making.
Russ Sampson, Environmental Consultant at ACM Environmental commented: “I am absolutely delighted to have yet another fantastic business choose ACM’s Greener Path Programme to help deliver their sustainability objectives towards a Zero Waste outcome. The ACM Greener Path Programme guides and mentors them along this journey of continuous improvement, something a traditional waste contractor business model could simply never do”.
